This work is based on a Ballet move called Battement en Cloche, swinging of the leg back and forth (Like a bell) The height of the frame where the pipe rest was made to match the heigh of my hip socket, this is where the movement comes from when doing the cloche movement (which again acts like an axis) to be able to perform this movement very well with good placement, lots of training and strengthening is needed. This idea is explored in the work through the act of repetition. In order to create the movement, I have created a crank mechanism (Using solid works and 3D printing) The speed of the motor and the interval it goes off at is programmed through Arduino (A screenshot of the code is also included in the gallery) The motor gets activated every 150,000 miliseconds and then it turns for 3000 miliseconds
